Extended Essay
The IB Extended Essay (EE) is an independent, in-depth research project that allows students to investigate a topic of personal interest within one of their IB subjects. It culminates in a formal academic essay of up to 4,000 words, encouraging students to develop advanced research, critical thinking, analytical, and academic writing skills. Through regular reflection and guidance from a supervisor, the Extended Essay prepares students for the expectations of university-level research while fostering intellectual curiosity and independent learning.
